History of Hunting Rifles Dubbing on request Subtitles available (Russian)
Civilian Weapons • 2022 • 43 minutes
Hunters rarely consider the long journey that hunting weapons took before the systems we use today were developed. The path was arduous, and not every engineering solution that seems obvious now was initially realized in metal. The military has always played a significant role in advancing technology. If an invention promised an advantage on the battlefield, it received close attention. Later, such weapons often transitioned to the civilian sector and helped hunters secure trophies of other kind. In this programme, we explore which weapons — having served on the fronts of various wars — confidently found their place in hunters’ collections. We also examine the reverse case: at the dawn of firearms, many innovations struggled to gain acceptance in military arms but were eagerly welcomed by hunters. Additionally, we compare the ease of use when shooting very different weapons.

Weapons of the Apocalypse Dubbing on request Subtitles available (Russian)

Weapons for Home Defense Dubbing on request Subtitles available (Russian)

A seventeenth-century British lawyer, commenting on English law, wrote, "My home is my castle". He likely did not imagine that he would coin one of the most popular sayings about home. Indeed, in many cultures, the home is seen as a place for deserved rest after a long journey and reliable shelter from life's misfortunes. However, sometimes the home itself needs safeguarding. Russian law permits the use of weapons for self-defense. How do you defend your fortress if you own a firearm? We examine this issue with an instructor in armed defense.
