Around the World on a Container Ship is a documentary about a professional sailor, Alexander, the second engineer on a massive container vessel, who embarks on a five-month voyage across the Pacific. It’s not just an exciting journey but also the story of the crew’s workaday life on the open ocean, told by a sailor. Viewers will learn how to deal with a main engine breakdown in the middle of the Pacific, repair fuel systems during a busy workday, and survive an eleven-point storm. In our film, the protagonist shows just how technically demanding the work of sailors is, as well as their everyday life, leisure — and, most importantly — explains why real life always stays ashore.
